What else could it delete if I haven't specified > anything else? Yes /PZ0, /PD0 and /YY are all different. See 'xxcopy /p/help' for a summary of the meaning of the various prompts. /PZ0 suppresses the initial "Make sure the destination is correct" prompt. /YY unconditionally suppresses all prompts. If you use /PZ0, you should NOT receive any further prompts (other than the /NX prompt which you are aware of) because /CLONE already includes /P0, /Po0, /PC0 and /PD0. You said previously that you are receiving directory deletion prompts (when only using /clone) so if this is the case, there's something strange going on - they should not occur. You're right that Xxcopy will only delete the files/directories that you have told it to so it should not cause any problems to use /YY. It's just that I'd personally feel very wary because Xxcopy might have encountered a situation it wasn't expecting. On the very slight chance that that is the case, I'd want to find out the cause.
