In that case, you'll need a DOS NTFS driver (www.sysinternals.com). The freeware version will only allow you to read an NTFS drive so the destination will need to be FAT or a network drive. If it's not, you'll need to buy the Pro version. Another alternative is to use the freeware ERUNT from: http://home.t-online.de/home/lars.hederer/erunt This will allow you to save and restore the live registry files from within NT. You'd use Xxcopy to backup everything except the registry files and ERUNT for the registry save/restore. If you are using NTFS, trying to restore the NT backup from within W2k would be somewhat problematic. I think you'd need to wipe the disk, re-install NT4 then restore the previous setup from the backup. Garry
