Yes and sometimes. Open a dos window (or from Start->Run) and type xxcopy /helpa/yy > xxcopyhlp.txt xxcopy /helpe/yy >> xxcopyhlp.txt This will write the condensed help that you would normally see on the screen to xxcopyhlp.txt. You can view this in notepad or similar. Don't abandon the DOS window altogether though because it's the best way to get focussed help using /? and particularly when you want to quickly see the effect of a particular switch or multiple switches in combination e.g. xxcopy /bu/da/? | more It's also a good idea to download http://www.xxcopy.com/download/xxtb2846.zip which has the full html documentation, FAQs and more which you can view in your browser. > here's the log file produced on my system. According to this > then ALL files were copied, correct? Yep perfect. 100% copy, no errors. The final line (exit code=0) indicates no errors. If you run the commands again, you will probably see exit code=100 which is also good. Anything else and you'll usually see the problem files listed in the log or the error explained on the last last. Garry
