Yes, NT, W2k and XP provide the necessary API for Xxcopy to modify the date attributes of directories (created, modified, accessed). W98/ME does not provide any mechanism for modifying the attributes of directories and always sets the modified timestamp to the date the directory was created. I assume you must have the XP system formatted with FAT32 because NTFS modifies the directory timestamp whenever files are added or deleted so you rarely see the modified timestamp matching the source.
