I have been successfully using XXCOPY 2.82.9.0 under Windows Me to back up files from my hard drive C: to my CD-burner drive F: I have just upgraded to Windows XP Home Edition (I am an XP newbie) and this method no longer works. For example: Here's a test batch file run from a folder on C: xxcopy foobar.txt F: The XXCOPY output seems to run normally in the DOS window, but when I examine the F: drive, there's no sign of foobar.txt, either in the list of "Files now on the CD" or in the list of "Files to be written to CD." When the target is another volume on the HD, however, it works fine: xxcopy foobar.txt D: BTW, when I try to execute from a DOS box F:> md myfolder I get an "Access denied" message. I am logged on as Administrator doing all this. Clearly there is something I do not yet understand about DOS access and permissions and CD burning under XP, and the free and easy use I had of XXCOPY under Windows Me is no longer available to me. Can anyone suggest what kinds of settings and configurations will allow me to continue to use XXCOPY under Windows XP Home? Thanks. David
