The "Next" version was almost ready. As a matter of fact,
it was made available in January of 2003 (v.2.83.x) and we
quickly retracted it due to some serious problems. The
"next" version has much cleaner core functions which we
re-wrote from scratch. We are still too timid to bring that
version available to the general public even as a beta test
version. So, the current release (including the beta test
versions) are from the old code and the "next" code is still
used in-house only.

If you insist on trying the "Next" version, please send me
an Email. I will make it available for you. It has all
the "advanced" features and more but has a number of
subtle differences in the behavior. We still keep
"patching" the older versions and did not have chance to
bring the "new" version for release.
