I'm not sure but Explorer may need to re-read the registry values before they take effect (I don't think this is the case but it may be). Try making the changes through the Explorer->Tools->Folder Options ->File Types menu. This is where you will need to add or edit the right click commands for edit, print etc. Take a look at the entries for .CMD files (called Windows NT Command Script on my NT system). Copy these same entries to the .BAT files and see how you go. On a related issue brought up by Michael, make sure that the PATHEXT variable includes .BAT. In a Cmd window, type SET PATHEXT You should see a list of filetypes "known" to windows. Although this shouldn't affect explorer's right click behaviour, it may do.
