Here is my exclude file: c:\*\*.SWP c:\*\*.TMP c:\*\SCANDISK.LOG c:\*\NPROTECT.LOG c:\*\default*.* c:\*\0000????.* "c:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files\*\*.*" c:\WINDOWS\Cookies\*\*.* c:\WINDOWS\History\*\*.* c:\WINDOWS\System\*\*.* c:\WINDOWS\PCHEALTH\*\*.* "c:\WINDOWS\Internet Logs\*\*.*" c:\*\*.lnk c:\*\*.shd c:\*\*.cab c:\recycled\*\*.* c:\Windows\recent\*\*.* "c:\Program Files\*\*.*" c:\Scratch\*\*.* g:\Scratch\*\*.* c:\_RESTORE\*\*.* The first two lines exclude all the .SWP and .TMP files in all directories and sub-directories. The excludes that go something like c:\DIR\SUBDIR\*\*.* exclude everything from /DIR/SUBDIR on down, and so on. I invoke using C:\> XXCOPY C:\ G:\ /CLONE/EXC:\BEX.TXT from the TOP level directory. Hope that helps. Richard Kahn, NV1Z [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
