Thanks to Pat1ck for posting info on his understanding of a potential bug in xxclone. Garry Dean's initial response seemed to suggest that Pat's posting to the email group was unnecessary and perhaps unwelcome because he and Kan were already aware of the bug.based on some off-line comments from Pat to the development team. In reply to the question of whether potential bugs identified off-line are communicated to the email group, and whether there are other known problems that the group was not yet aware of, Garry's response was that xxclone was in beta test mode and you get what you pay for. Is that consistent with the open-communication spirit of this email group? It's one thing to assume some inherent risk in using any software, but users should be aware if there was an intention to focus on the good news and not identify known potential problems, particularly with this group where a highly effective communication forum is in place and where a high level of trust has been established based on Kan's obvious sincerity and high moral character, as well as Kan's and the team's technical abilities.
