Greetings, My first notable glitch with XXCLONE beta: XXCLONE (version 0.20.7) did not recognize any source XP partition even though it was being run from within the source XP partition. It recognizes okay the destination XP partition that was set up with Partition Magic 8.0 (as well as identifying various other non-XP partitions as potential destination partitions?). I've just installed two 120gb WD drives (W98SE and XP-Pro(test) environments - DELL XPST450 - Pentium3 450). First I used PartionMagic8.0 and XXCLONE version 0.20.7 (incremental option) to transfer/activate XP from a 30GB drive to the new master 120GB boot drive. All seemed normal. The boot primary partition contains the boot.ini file while a large logical partition on the boot drive contains the XP windows etc directories (alternate XP logical partitions to be located on the master boot drive or on a slave drive similar to what I've done before). From within the new XP logical partition on the master 120GB boot drive I then used PM8.0 to copy the XP logical partition to a logical partition on the new slave 120GB drive (PM8.0 used a reboot to DOS mode). My problem occurred when I then tried to use the same XXCLONE version 0.20.7 (incremental option) from within the XP logical partition on the master 120GB boot drive to activate XP on the slave 120GB drive. The destination partition was recognized okay, but XXCLONE did not identify the source drive that it was being run from (nor any other source XP partition), and gave the error message "invalid source volume selected" when I tried to run it, assuming it would default to the XP logical partition that I was running from. Kan, I'll forward the xxclone.dat file to you separately. Maybe the number of partitions that I'm using (originals plus backups) causes some problems? Happy Holiday Season, Dan Anderson
