Guys, Here is my problem: I wish to copy approximately 65000 .tif image files from one network directory (on a server) to another network directory (on a nas box), running the copy script/command from a windows xp pc (not the server or the nas box). f:\ = server n:\ = nas c:\ = win xp pc ie. winxp_pc calls: //server/*.tif -> //nas/*.tif The .tif image files range in filesize from 11kb to 981kb and all have long filenames (> 8 chars). All 65000 image files are in the same directory. My problems: 1) A copy->paste command in WindowsXP initiates, but the "Preparing to Copy" dialog box appears to hang. 2) I've tried the dos command: "replace f:\scans\*.tif n:\scans /A", which is meant to only copy new files, however, there is no indication of progress and I got tired of waiting/guessing at its progress/success? 3) I tried the xxcopy command: "xxcopy *.tif n:\scans /bb", which -----DOS COPY END----- This disk full error keeps happening at different stages of the copy. The nas disk, which I'm copying to, is nowhere near full, as it is a 200gig ntfs drive and I only formatted it yesterday. All I can think is that the network connection keeps dropping out. Any batches or scripts out there that can get around a drop-in-drop- out network connection? Cheers, - Simon.
