By disabling the buffering to the destination volume, at least the file I/O can be made sure that the file-write action is complete before XXCOPY will prompt for your action (switch the diskette/Zip disc). However, XXCOPY cannot easily detect when the write-behind cache for updated directory info is complete that the operator is not usually sure of when the disk write action is complete. Besides, the /CA5 will probably slow down the performance considerably, I'm not sure you really want to do this. The best way is to follow the common sense --- wait until the activity light on the drive is off. If you are still not sure, just wait for 10 minutes before you touch the drive (no, I'm exaggerating --- probably a 10 second wait is more than sufficient). Kan Yabumoto
