If so, when you double click on xxcopy.exe it will just display the default text about the program then terminate resulting in a quick flashing console window. You can get to a command prompt by going to START/RUN and typing in CMD (then press ENTER). With the "DOS box" open you can manually enter your xxcopy command line. You can also go to a command prompt by finding the icon for it in the (most likely) Accessories section under ALL PROGRAMS on the START button menu. If you're running xxcopy from a batch file and the window just flashes open/closed, you may have a syntax error in your script. If you're not running xxcopy from a batch file you may want to try doing so. Below is a sample batch file that will output the xxcopy help in alphabetical order, pausing at each screen full (Press the SPACEBAR) to view the next screen page of text while viewing the help). @Echo off Xxcopy /helpa | more Pause Just copy the above three lines into an empty plain text file and save it with a name something like xxcopy-test.bat You can then run the batch file by double clicking on it from My Computer or the Windows Explorer.
