The /H and /A had some funny interaction (interference) which I think was broken since /AT and /AX were added for the total flexibility in attribute bit combination. Still, the simple-minded /A and /H/Ho/H0 scheme is hard to give up. We should not abandon the traditional method of specifying the files based upon the H-bit and S-bit (I still don't know what the S-bit really was invented for). Anyway, the mess still exist by having two schemes to control the combination of the file attributes for file selection purposes. There seems no clear cut solution for this. So, it is best that the user not to mix the traditional method (using /A, /H, /H0, /Ho) and the versatile method (combination of /AT and /AX). Since some combinations that are specified by /AT and/or /AX do not have exact counterparts using /H,/H0,/Ho. This is partially due to the fact the /H switch treats both the System (S-bit) and Hidden (H-bit) attribute bits as if the two bits are interchangealbe, whereas by using the /AT and /AX parameters, the S-bit and H-bit can be explicitly specified. I believe for the great majority of users, the /AT and /AX switches are really an overkill. Due to the partial "incompatibility" of the traditional (/H/Ho/H0) and the flexible (/AT/AX) scheme, the parameter list had to be re-adjusted. In this new version, we chose to remove the /H/Ho/H0 parameter whenever the user chose the /AT/AX scheme for the file selection. At any rate, the bug that was pointed out by Garry was corrected in this release. Also, we added several error conditions that will allow XXCOPY to retry after some network-related error condition is reported. I will post a separate message for the new release. Kan Yabumoto
