The command that got me closest to my desired result is: xxcopy \mydocu~1 \backup\mydocu~1\ /clone. This version of the command creates the new output dir "mydocu~1". It does not use the input dir as model, therefore LFN is lost. For the lower level directories it copies,it does just fine (using the input as model and preserving LFN). I can't use the LFN as input. Also, I can't revert to \root because the /clone now backs up the entire system. I also tried exclusions but they seem to apply to filenames only, not to directories. I'm trying to select specific directories to backup rather than the entire volume. Any suggestions? Tx Jay Ahr
