This has perplexed me for some time now and I'm sure that someone will
know the answer.

With three HDDs, I previously used xxcopy with(98) and since
inception, xxclone with XPPro. I do an incremental regularly with an
occasional full back-up, although I don't see any difference with
either choice. 

Considering the above, what happens to the two other drives after I've
defraged the main one. After the defrag, does the clone function
actually change the layout on the cloned drive?
