Wild options in exclusions, (\*\, etc.) don't seem to work when the Source is remote? Dealing with that, what I'm really confused over is the "DEP.DUS" file below? This was run on the "Destination" computer, which is Win98 (FAT32), EL-Diablo is this machine running WinXP Pro (NTFS). ===================================================================== ========== XXCOPY ver 2.85.8 2004-09-12 09:22:14 Windows Ver 4.10.2222 Command Line = C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\XXCOPY.EXE /EC/CF:"C:\My Documents\Scripts\El-Diablo Sync\My Documents.xcf"/PZ0/WS/L --------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- Command File = C:\My Documents\Scripts\El-Diablo Sync\My Documents.xcf "\\El-Diablo\My Documents\" "C:\My Documents\" /BZ /Q /S /Y /oN:"C:\My Documents\Scripts\El-Diablo Sync\Sync.log" /oF2 /oD2 /oE2 /X:"\\El-Diablo\My Documents\My Albums\" /X:"\\El-Diablo\My Documents\My DVDs\" /X:"\\El-Diablo\My Documents\My Music\My Playlists\" /X:"\\El-Diablo\My Documents\My Music\My Recordings\" /X:"\\El-Diablo\My Documents\Scripts\" /X:"\\El-Diablo\My Documents\DPE.DUS" /X:"\\El-Diablo\My Documents\My Music\Sample Music.lnk" /X:"\\El-Diablo\My Documents\My Pictures\Sample Pictures.lnk" --------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- Switch Parameters /AXH /AXS /BZX /C /CA /CB0 /CCY /CF"C:\My Documents\Scripts\El-Diablo Sync\My Documents.xcf" /CK /CR3 /D0 /DL0 /E0 /EC /ED0 /ER0 /F0 /FM0 /FF0 /FL /FT0 /FW /H0 /I0 /IN* /K0 / L /N0 /NP0 /NX0 /NI0 /NW /NC0 /oN"C:\My Documents\Scripts\El-Diablo Sync\Sync.log" /oD2 /oE2 /oF2 /oI0 /oP0 /oS0 /oX0 /P0 /PB0 /PC0 /PD0 /PN /Po0 /PZ0 /Q1 /QF0 /QB0 /QS0 /R0 /S /SP0 /SG0 /SX0 SZ:- /T0 /TR00 /TS0 /TD0 /TTA0 /TCA0 /TCC0 /TCW /TM0 /U0 /V0 /WD /WS /WV /X /Y /Z0 /ZE0 /ZS0 /ZX0 --------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- Source base directory = "\\El-Diablo\My Documents\" Destination directory = "C:\My Documents\" File name template = "*" \\El-Diablo\My Documents\DPE.DUS 144,252 --------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- Directories processed = 204 Total data in bytes = 144,252 Elapsed time in sec. = 2.718 Action speed (MB/min) = 3.184 Files examined = 2,061 Files selected = 1 Log File Created = "C:\My Documents\Scripts\El-Diablo Sync\Sync.log" Exit code = 0 (No error, Successful operation) OK, Here's another single file problem. "Builder.com Web Development Zone 01.zip" can be freshly copied from El-Diablo to Dell, but it's still always identified as different (in this case only size). In versions where the Source is Local & the Destination is Remote these exceptions go away? Confused yet? I am! But what's going on is comparing cases of considering who's boss while sitting at either. ===================================================================== ========== XXCOPY ver 2.85.8 2004-09-12 10:31:15 Windows Ver 5.1.2600 Command Line = xxcopy /EC/CF:"F:\My Documents\Scripts\Dell Sync\My Documents.xcf"/PZ0/WS/L --------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- Command File = F:\My Documents\Scripts\Dell Sync\My Documents.xcf "\\Cx532597-a\My Documents\" "F:\My Documents\" /BZ /Q /S /Y /oN:"F:\My Documents\Scripts\Dell Sync\Sync.log" /oF2 /oD2 /oE2 /X:"\\Cx532597-a\My Documents\Messenger Service Received Files\" /X:"\\Cx532597-a\My Documents\My Music\My Playlists\" /X:"\\Cx532597-a\My Documents\My Music\Sample Playlists\" /X:"\\Cx532597-a\My Documents\My Music\beck.*" /X:"\\Cx532597-a\My Documents\My Pictures\desktop.ini." /X:"\\Cx532597-a\My Documents\Scripts\" --------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- Switch Parameters /AXH /AXS /BZX /C /CA /CB0 /CCY /CF"F:\My Documents\Scripts\Dell Sync\My Documents.xcf" /CK /CR3 /D0 /DL0 /E0 /EC /ED0 /ER0 /F0 /FM0 /FF0 /FL /FT0 /FW /H0 /I0 /IN* /K0 /L /N0 /NP 0 /NX0 /NI0 /NW /NC0 /oN"F:\My Documents\Scripts\Dell Sync\Sync.log" /oD2 /oE2 /oF2 /oI0 /oP0 /oS0 /oX0 /P0 /PB0 /PC0 /PD0 /PN /Po0 /PZ0 /Q1 /QF0 /QB0 / QS0 /R0 /S /SP0 /SG0 /SX0 SZ:- /T0 /TR00 /TS0 /TD0 /TTA0 /TCA0 /TCC0 /TCW /TM0 /U0 /V0 /WD /WS /WV /X /Y /Z0 /ZE0 /ZS0 /ZX0 --------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- Source base directory = "\\Cx532597-a\My Documents\" Destination directory = "F:\My Documents\" File name template = "*" \\Cx532597-a\My Documents\Computer Stuff\History\Builder.com Web Development Zone 01.zip 306,488 --------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------- Directories processed = 203 Total data in bytes = 306,488 Elapsed time in sec. = 3.937 Action speed (MB/min) = 4.671 Files examined = 2,061 Files selected = 1 Log File Created = "F:\My Documents\Scripts\Dell Sync\Sync.log" Exit code = 0 (No error, Successful operation) Considering what all's going on here, I'm just plumb tickled to death. But it's always those couple of Exceptions. Then, could we discuss Day Light Savings Time in addition to Fuzzy Time? Or could someone tell me how to do a Size & Time comparison ignoring 1 Hr. & 2 Secs? (I might not want to know?) I'm thinking about turning off the DLST (after it changes back) and manually resetting the clock after that! DES
