Trying again: http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/misc.shtml#volumeid In the command window, VolumeID /? (for help) Works on NTFS, I haven't written FAT32 with it. But... the sernum.exe included in Letter Assigner for Win9X/ME http://www.72735.com/LetAssign/index.html reads NTFS correctly, so I'd say the VolumeID resides at the same offset independant of file system.
