I cannot see any reason why "\\El-Diablo\My Documents\DPE.DUS" is not being excluded. However, you might try adding the /ox3 option to your command line which will list the exclusions in the log file where you can study the results. /ox3 will also list the reason why an exclusion was not used (like when the exclusion contains an invalid path). However if a specific file to be excluded does not exist, xxcopy will not indicate that it was not found. Alternately, you might try the exclusion /x:"DPE.DUS" and see what that does. In regards to your second question about the builder.com zip file, try changing /bz to /bx/ff and see what happens. To do a size and time comparison which ignores files that are date stamped within 1 hour and 2 seconds of each other, try the option combination of /bi/ff3602 John
