Essentially that's what you were asking us for in your first message. A backup that only copies new or changed files from source to destination is an incremental backup. Contrasted to an "archival backup" or "full" backup which copies everything from the source to the destination regardless. Which one is best for you depends upon your chosen backup scheme. Note that an incremental backup to an empty destination has the same effect as doing a full backup. /BU is a good general purpose incremental backup option because it includes copying "hidden", "system", and "read only" files. It also copies files in the subdirectories. John
