Grrrr... I see that. And you're even using a slightly older version 
of xxcopy. One other possible difference, the problem shows up when 
I'm running xxcopy on the W98 machine, with the source on XP? This 
always happens to me! And it's not even worth the trouble, as I can 
just copy the 1 file over and eliminate that particular thing.

Untill there's a method to declare Destination Exclusions (is the 
Tech monitoring or should I post my Christmas list?) I keep having 
to make minor structure adjustments for convenience anyway.

And I see further down the list where Garry is mystified as well. 
I'll get to his suggestion when the mood strikes to pursue this 
further.
