Subject  :  Clearing Archive Bit on Excluded File

Does anyone know if there is a way to clear the bit on an excluded file? 

I have many files building up that I never backup, based on filename
exclusions (/X), but those files have the Archive bit set, so XXcopy
keeps looking at them, then excluding them. I would like to clear the
bit on those files if they are excluded. Right now, only files that
actually get copied get their Archive bit cleared (using the /M switch).
