Thanks for the reply - have tried what you suggested and no joy. It works fine on a copy from a netware 4 to netware 4 so it must be something to do with the file system on a nw5 server. Might just have to assign the righs by hand. I've just had a chance to re-examine and test this and I think the /rsy command will do what's required i.e. remove the files with mismatched SFNs. You should thoroughly check it yourself of course. More importantly however, I inadvertently swapped the source and dest in the 2nd command I gave. It should have been: xxcopy \\nw4\share\src\ \\nw5\share\dst\ /bu Garry Yahoo!
