Yes it will copy the system locked files, but you can take a coffee break while it does. I've reverted to the same outline as used with xxcopy. Excluding the open files and handling the registry with ERUNT & batch files. Much quicker. It's not nearly as space efficient as xxcopy, and generates some whopper data files. But as a result the logging is something to behold. Providing it's not doing whatever it does on open files I think it takes a shortcut through Hyperspace on the rest. Replaces the /L switch with "Simulated Runs". Can stop and indicate differences or not on each profile of a group. (Where profile = xxcopy command file and group = batch file of command files.) It certainly doesn't replace xxcopy (although it could!). But adds another dimension to organizating batch operations. And as the name implies, it adds a true Synchronize capability vs. straight copying. Getting around the 4 possible ways with 2 machines that needs to be considered with xxcopy. The #1 logical difference for me was it understands that Exclusions apply to both sides of the operation. (It took awhile with xxcopy for it to register they only applied to the source.) And it has Include capability satisfying the Include file wish. Although I'm pretty sure this operates only within the base source & destination, leaving Grouping for multiple sources & destinations per job. DES
