Kan and others, O.K., O.K., I just had to add my opinion here, though I rarely add to a discussion, I have been using XXCOPY {for years} and XXCLONE for sometime without complaint. I admit, my needs are not as COMPLEX as others {wooo, thank goodness :-) }. Everyone has a right to their opinion {I respect that} and here comes mine: I {and, I suspect} MANY OTHERS, owe a great amount of thanks to the YEARS of work, toiling and responsiveness to Kan's efforts on making our collective lives easier {we sleep better having good backups around}, all at HIS COST and NOTHING at OUR COST {money-wise}. Simply, I THANK YOU, KAN, for all the effort you have put into this. It works for me. I propagate your software to others, however, only those with sufficient knowledge of computers and the command-line interface. I also have to thank the many contributors to this forum which have enlightened me to no end. I sometimes can not help but thinking what drives these fine people and how they have the time to keep up with us asking a barrage of questions. Thank you to all you, as well. Now, Kan's definiton of CLONE is right on the mark. An EXACT replica of the original. No more, no less. /BACKUP is the way to go for most of us, I believe. For me, it is singularly important for the USER to act responsibly on their own behalf. Kan is miles if not worlds away from a user and can not hold their hand. Kan also has to have the time to involve himself in other {i.e., income producing} tasks. The fact that he donates time for such a worthwhile set of programs for free speaks volumes about the person. He also readily responds directly to questions and criticisms of his efforts. Try that from Microsoft, Intuit and others. Kan's software is of very high quality and works well. Sure, there are quirks and bugs here and there, who does NOT have them? Kan readily focuses efforts on addressing them, too. As with all endeavors in life, one should certainly do their own research before taking on the task. Caveat Emptor comes to mind {the cost of your actions ... not necessarily money}. One would not readily purchase a car, house, choose a college, without research {I hope}? Last, however, not least, if this product digusts you so much, move on, find another. Do not blame the failure or shortcomings of one's self on others. That can be considered cowardly. If something appears too complex for you, do not take it on. Ant that, group, is my OPINION on this matter. It is meant not to offend anyone. Sometimes we need a "reality" check every now and then. Thank you, Kan, for all that you do for us as a community of like minded individuals. Regards, Christopher J. Spilker mailto:chris-jo-ann-spilker@w...
